Just Fabulous review.

Finally another shoe blog!! On Friday I finally got my amazing shoes from Justfab.com.. Damn things took FOREVER it feels like to get here. But they were totally worth the wait. I hemmed and hawed about getting them for a few weeks because they are 5 1/2 inches tall. I am a notorious klutz and trip over my own feet just walking in regular shoes. I bought a pair of black boots from there a couple of years ago and they are my go to boots. Super comfy. I also have a couple of bags from there. The first one I bought is a tan hobo style bag and I can carry a ton of stuff in there. Change of clothes and a small toiletry bag for an over night trip. I can also carry plenty of stuff for the kids in it as well which is why I purchased it in the first place. The other bag is the one I currently carry around. I downsized a little because it wasn't necessary to carry a bunch of the boys stuff around anymore. This one is smaller and I can fit everything I usually carry around and an unopened bottle of water. Its a beautiful orange color. I was skeptical about getting that color but I loved the style of the bag so much that I figured I could live with the color.

the picture doesn't do it justice but you get the idea.

Now onto the shoes!! The ones I bought are called Pippa and they are pretty damn amazing. I think they are very vintage looking which is why I bought them and because of the nude color they will go with a lot of different outfits and dresses which is awesome. As I said before they are 5 1/2 inches tall so when I got them and put them onto and walked around they didn't feel any different from some of my other 3 1/2 inch heels which I loved. They are a little big, probably about 1/4 size too big but that's ok since sometimes as the day or night goes on your feet swell a little. These were completely comfortable. I wore them when I left the house yesterday to go over to Tara's, but I threw a pair of flats in my car just in case my feet started to hurt.

I wore them out downtown that night, walking was fine in them even going down hill a little. My feet didn't hurt after standing for a long period of time either. Actually my feet didn't hurt at all during the whole night. I expected to have sore toes at the very least the next morning and for my shins and calves to sore as well but I didn't experience any of that. The padding in the toe and where the balls of my feet rest is nice and thick enough that you don't need to buy an insert for the extra padding. Pippa will for sure go on the frequently worn list.

JustFab.com is similar to ShoeDazzle and the other online shoe of the month clubs with one small difference. When they ship out your order it leaves via UPS but UPS hands it off to USPS. Now I can't quite figure out why. I don't think they are saving any money with having UPS hand it off. Any time I order from Shoe Dazzle its delivered to my door by UPS and both companies from what I can tell have a pretty similar shipping policy. Ground shipping is free and takes 4-10 business days to be delivered. You can upgrade your shipping for $5.95 to get them with in 3-5 business days.

My only gripe about this is that UPS doesn't update the website with information when a package is sent out UPS Sure post. My order left Kentucky on the 6th and there was no information on where it was until the 16th when it was finally handed off to USPS. When I left a comment about it on Just Fab's facebook page I was told that I could pay $5.95 to upgrade my shipping and have UPS deliver it to my door instead of the post office. It doesn't say anywhere in there that the free ground shipping is via UPS/USPS and that the upgraded shipping is UPS. I'm not sure how I missed this with my last 3 orders but I did. I work in customer service myself and so I was a little disappointed with the cookie cutter response I got from the rep who replied to my post. Not even an offer to try and track the package for me. :(

I REALLY love their bags and the two pairs of shoes I have from them are amazing but I may have to think about buying anything else from them especially when the customer service and the shipping at other places is much better. I guess we'll see. I'm hoping this is just a one time weird online shopping experience.

Stay tuned. I have a really awesome blog coming up as soon as I get the pictures to go with it on what Tara turned my face into on Saturday. I should have that up in a few days or so but if we're friends on Facebook you can check out my profile picture to see what we did.

Till next time!!

Day 10!

So I'm a few days late with this post but it's been a busy few days. Friday's lipstick of the day was from Makeup Forever. Its Rouge Artist Intense number 46. I really love this one. Makeup forever makes a really great product. This color is a deeper red, more berry in color than actual red. It feels good on and lasts quite awhile although it will come off quicker than some of the others when eating or drinking.

I think that this color could work on everyone. Its a good every day color as well as one to wear for going out. You can get this at Sephora online or in the store for $19. I bought this one online on impulse because I was just $18 shy of getting free shipping so I figured why not. It was a good buy for not having tried it on first. I do NOT recommend doing that by the way.. It could end up horribly and I personally hate returning things.

Only a few more days left! Well 6 or so to be exact but I'll be glad when this is over. LOL Stay tuned. I've got a shoe blog coming up next!

Till next time!

Day 9!

I'm getting closer to the end of my crazy challenge or whatever you want to call it. Today I wore one of my FAVORITE colors. I carry this one in my bag so I always have it with me. Its called Tempt and its from Covergirl. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this color.. Its a great red that borders on being a hot pink (at least that's my humble opinion). This isn't one that everyone can wear but you should at least should try. Really, you can't go wrong. Tempt is one of those colors that when you put it on you feel like you could almost stop traffic. Its a pretty awesome feeling to have if you ask me.

This one will actually stain your lips a little and it stays on pretty well even through eating and drinking. It can get a little dry at the end of the day so I'd suggest putting on a little lip balm on and rubbing it in really well before reapplying.

and this is what I look like when I haven't brushed my hair! :)

Now out of all the drug store brands you really can't go wrong with Covergirl. They are inexpensive and always have really great pigment. I have several more lipsticks by them but they are all for the most part only worn if I'm going dramatic on the eye or if I'm feeling lazy and don't want to hunt down a lip gloss. This one is great because you don't need a lip liner and it doesn't bleed! Tempt for sure is a keeper and well I really like the name too.

On a side note I was super excited to get shoes in the mail today but alas I did not because they won't be here till tomorrow damn it. So look for that tomorrow  night. I have a slight beef with the shipping from the company I got the shoes from but I'll address that tomorrow.

That's all I've got for now kids.. Till next time!

Red Lipstick Day 7 & 8!

Sorry for not posting day 7 yesterday kids but well it was Valentine's Day after all and I had a dinner date with some friends.. Definitely beat sitting on my ass on the couch, eating pizza and playing Xbox as was the original plan..

Here we go.. Day 7 I picked the L'Oreal Project Runway collection. Its really a beautiful red called Watchful Owl's Pout. Kind of an odd name for a red lipstick if you ask me. It slides on the lips really nice but as with some of the drug store brand lipsticks it bleeds unless you line the outside of your lips with a little concealer to create a barrier so it doesn't do that. I didn't do and well... Lets just say after lunch I opted not to reapply. :) This is another one of those colors that I'm pretty sure everyone can wear although I would caution those who have more pinky undertones. It might not work so well. Give it a whirl and let me know.

ignore the back pack in the background!!

I don't remember where I got this.. Damn impulse buys, but most likely I got it at CVS and in case you hadn't noticed CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens all tend to be about $3 or so higher than Wal Mart and Target.

I'll include what I looked like at the end of the day and was on my way to my friends house to dinner. And really for being taken in my car its a pretty picture if I do say so myself. The lipgloss I'm wearing is from Urban Decay. Its from the Lip Junky line and its called Jilted. EVERYONE can wear this color since it goes on pretty sheer and gives your lips a nice plump without the burning that some of the other glosses with the plumping serum does.

again.. ignore the back pack!! :)

Moving on to today Day 8! As I was looking through what I had in my bathroom I found I had another Rimmel London Lipstick in my little collection. This one is called Temption number 01. This one I think has a little gold shimmer in it but you really can't tell at all. Its a little glossy which is ok and this one goes on nicely also. Another bleeder though even with lip liner which I did use today. This is one I'll for sure wear again and would have reapplied had I remembered to put it in my bag when I left the house this morning. Rimmel runs about $6 at Wal Mart and Target.

 woohoo for puffy faced mornings!!

Now if you're iffy on red I don't really recommend this one because it DOES take some work just like yesterday's to prevent bleeding. But with that being said it is a really beautiful color.

We're winding down now with just about a week to go and coming up on some of my favorites and ones I always carry in my bag. Nars, Makeup Forever, another Kat Von D as well as another L'Oreal or 2 are all in that mix.

I'll be posting a Just Fabulous review this weekend as I'll be getting in some shoes from there on Friday. I've bought a couple of bags there and my favorite pair of non heeled boots. So look for that Saturday or Sunday.

Its late and I'm beat.. Till next time!!

Red Lipstick Day 6!

Its Kat Von D day!! Woohoo! I'm kind of excited about this. I really love her stuff. I have the Tattoo Chronicles Candelabra Edition palette as well (see my sephora haul blog for more info). I even wore a couple of the eye shadows today. LOL

The color I wore today is called Hellbent. Its a beautiful blue red. It can be a little dry so I put on a little bit of lip balm on while I did the rest of my face. You don't really need a lip liner either which is nice. I personally kind of hate using one.. Its just one more damn thing to carry around in my bag.

sorry!! Its a little blurry. :(

I think that this could be a good color for anyone. You can get this at Sephora either online or at the store for $19. I also bought the Everlasting liquid love lipstick but I'll do a separate blog on that later in the week.

Ok Kids.. That's all I've got for you today. :) Till next time!

Because it needs to be said..

I was doing some late night browsing among blogs and whatnot cause well I was bored and sleep just wasn't going to happen. I stumbled across a couple about C-sections (including one I had read before) and I was just astounded at the stupidness of these posts. Let me elaborate..

I have had two c-sections myself. First with Reese 10 years ago. I was fully intending on having natural child birth but the universe had other ideas and I ended up having an emergency one instead. Now I don't remember much cause well, drugs are awesome. Epidurals are your friends unless you like all the ripping pain, then by all means pass it up. I was scared as hell when the nurse came in and said they were going to do the c-section because it wasn't in the plan. All in all it wasn't that bad. The recovery time was the same as it was if I had given birth to him without all the operating rooms and being carved open like a Thanksgiving Turkey.

I was fortunate enough to have my own room and the nurses were awesome. I was also lucky to have a supportive partner as well. Thankfully Brian was pretty in tune with when I needed meds or if I was just being a baby, he was also great in dealing with the nurses too and policing visitors. I never needed anything stronger than the codeine/tylenol cocktail they start you off with although I did get a shot of percaset and that was just worthless. It did absolutely nothing for my pain. Getting up and down wasn't that difficult once I figured out how to roll out of bed without pulling my stitches or staples. Once I got home it wasn't that difficult to take care of Reese and myself. I took naps when he did and had everything close at hand that I might need for the first week and then I forced myself, along with some prodding from Brian, to get up and do things normally but carefully since I was still healing.

It was the same with Cole except his was planned. I went into the doctors appointment where the subject would be delivery and said I wanted to have the c-section. After 36 hours of labor with Reese and having to have an emergency c-section I knew I didn't want to go through all of that just to end up in the operating room again. The doctor was fine with that and he was actually going to suggest it because of how my last delivery went. Recovery time was the same both in the hospital and at home. So was the drug situation. Cole's dad Ryan did a great job too of making sure I had help if I needed it as well as taking Cole so I could get a few hours of sleep or take a shower in peace. The only difference between Reese's delivery and Cole's was with Cole they had to widen my previous incision because he was such a big kid and the nurse that put my IV in before I went into surgery was kind of a dick. She punctured the vein and wrapped the IV to my arm to tight causing my fore arm to swell a little and some bruising but really that was the worst of it. Breast feeding was also a little more difficult as I wasn't able to nurse him for more than a few weeks as I ended up with having a mild case of mastitis. SO NOT FUN. It made nursing Cole painful. Eventually I just had to use a breast pump because nursing him left me in tears but even using the breast pump was painful and we switched him completely over to formula at about 6 weeks old or so because I bled into 8 ounces of breast milk. At that point it just wasn't worth all the hassle and he was mostly on formula anyway.

So now that you have a little history on my experience let me just say this: I call BULLSHIT! In one of the blogs I read the blogger actually said that any woman who actually schedules a c-section is crazy, a masochist and possibly a drug addict. While I may be slightly crazy and well lets be honest everyone is a little masochistic, I, along with all the other women in the world who have c-sections, made the best choice for me and for my baby. Have you ever read what can happen when you give birth naturally?? Holy shit batman! Its awful!! My friend Mary had the worst time with her son Liam when he was born. He got stuck and just tore  her insides to shreds. She couldn't even pee without medical assistance for a while and had to have some reconstructive surgery after. Her daughter Quinn on the other hand popped right out. Liam's birth was just circumstance.. She had amazing doctors and nurses. Shit happens yo..

Honestly I'm just amazed by the stupidity of some of these mothers. Stop bitching about a few hours of pain and who gives a fuck about the asshole nurse you had. Come on.. You gave birth to an amazing little person. I'm pretty sure that trumps your petty whiny ass shit. That amazing little person is worth a few weeks of discomfort. Just because you had some shitty luck with your hospital and delivery experience doesn't mean that every one does. Every single pregnancy and delivery is different.

My message is simply this.. Don't believe all the bullshit you read on mom blogs or boards. Its not the standard and not everyone is going to experience the same things. You could have an amazingly pleasant experience or you could have a crappy one. Its the roll of the dice man. There's nothing you can do about it except for be calm and go with it.

Ask for advice and talk to your girlfriends who have had babies but PLEASE for pete's sake remember that you're experience will be different and don't freak the hell out.

Rant done.. We will now resume our regularly scheduled blogging (well tomorrow we will haha)

Till next time!!

Red Lipstick Day 5!

Today I choose a red color that was my dad's favorite. He loved a good blue red, like crimson red. So I wore the red from Rimmel London's Kate Moss Collection called 01. I really like this one. The color is a really nice red. Smells good and stays on well. Its a great red if you're going for the classic retro Betty Paige, Marilyn Monroe look. Its high on my list of favorite reds.

me and the Coler at his last game today.

So as you can see in the picture above it really is a beautiful red and I think it will look great on everyone. It doesn't bleed at all and you can certainly use a lip liner if you want. I didn't. I think these go for about $5 or $6 at Walmart. Its just as good as the higher end brands which is awesome also.

Well that's about all I have for you today. I'll leave you with a picture of my dad and I when I was about 3 months old or so. I meant to put it up on the blog I wrote about him earlier today but I forgot so here you go.

  Me and Dad

Damn I was a cute baby!! What the hell happened?? LOL..

Till next time!!
